Brought up in the Midlands, I have been living in Leeds for some 30 years.
I trained as a Landscape Architect and worked in this creative field both for Harrogate Borough Council and Leeds Beckett University until I was able to devote myself to my artwork full time 6 years ago.
My artistic style is usually quite abstract, attempting to capture the spirit of the landscape in mixed media. I generally sketch and immerse myself in often rural moorland where I enjoy walking and cycling. I then return to my art studio and try to find new ways to capture the sensory experience of the landscape using acrylics, oil paints, collage, inks and woollen fibres.
My work and my style continue to evolve and I enjoy capturing the vibrant colours and variety of seasonal changes.
